Ted&Co does not collect or store any personal information. The plush toy does not record or retain audio, does not require a login or account, and does not engage in any form of advertising, tracking, or profiling. All interactions occur in real time, and Ted&Co has no access to the conversations that take place between the child and the toy.

To enable the toy to understand and respond naturally, Ted uses OpenAI’s Realtime API. In this process, only the transcribed text of what the child says is temporarily sent to OpenAI’s servers. Audio is never transmitted. The transcribed text is anonymized, not retained, and is used solely to generate an appropriate real-time response. It is not used to train any AI model. All data exchanges are encrypted, and responses are subject to both OpenAI’s native safety filters and Ted&Co’s own content filtering systems, including any topic restrictions or custom settings defined by the parent.

Certain information may be stored locally on the plush toy to personalize the child’s experience. This may include the child’s first name, preferences related to tone or topics, or a brief memory that allows the toy to offer consistent, age-appropriate responses. This data remains entirely within the toy and is never transmitted to any external server. Parents may delete all local data at any time through the companion app.

Ted&Co provides a secure companion application, which allows parents to configure and supervise all aspects of the toy’s behavior. Access to this app is protected by a PIN code chosen by the parent. Through the app, parents can personalize the toy’s voice and tone, define which topics are permitted or restricted, adjust interaction hours, activate or disable features, and review summaries of potentially sensitive interactions. At no time are full conversations recorded or stored.

In cases where a sensitive subject is detected—such as sadness, fear, or signs of distress—the toy responds with empathy and encourages the child to speak to a trusted adult. In parallel, a notification is sent to the parent’s app. This notification contains only the question asked by the child and the response given by the toy. No other data is recorded or transmitted.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), parents and legal guardians have the right to access, correct, or delete any data stored locally on the device. All data processing occurs locally on the toy. There is no cloud storage, no remote access, no background audio monitoring, and no embedded camera. Bluetooth connections are protected with a secure PIN code. Ted&Co never accesses, monitors, or stores any user content.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulatory requirements, or the product itself. In the event of any significant changes, families will be notified through the Ted&Co application or our website.
